Over the past couple of decades as successful, educated women worked their way up the corporate ladder, they garnered an unattractive stereotype of being "b*#@hes". And it is not only men who feel this, other women feel this as well.
It is the fear of the unknown. According to Forbes Magazine, in the U.S., men run roughly 97% of the largest public companies, hold 84% of major board positions and control 83% of Congress. So for the very few women who hold these high positions, they have had to work and fight their way to the top. Journalist, Jenna Goudreau, also says, "Many of them invoked either a cold, sterile rigidness or an erratic, vengeful fury–distinct but equally scary. Meanwhile, studies show that assertive women are more likely to be perceived as aggressive; that women usually don’t ask for what they deserve but when they do, they risk being branded as domineering or, worse even, “ambitious."
Should they be feared or respected? Personally, I respect what they have accomplished, however, I would be scared to work for one!!!!
